AirtelCallhome sucks big time
Bharti telecom has launched a service competing with Reliance’s “Reliance Call India” India calling service called “Airtel Call home”.Reliance is very popular with Indian Expats/NRI’s and they use this service for calling India on a regular basis. Using the reliance service costs 12.9 cents per minute to call any number in India. Airtel is offering the same service at 7.9 cents per minute.
There is an introductory limited time offer from Airtel, offering double the minutes on the first purchase.
Now comes the interesting part. To say that their website sucks is an under-statement. The website is full of bugs and not a single page works. Registration will take hours if not days. Once registered, users cannot login. If you are lucky few who can login then none of the pages inside will work. After registering it doesn’t tell you how you can use the service or mail you the user id and password. You have to call the call center, wait for hours to be connected and then ask them to mail you your user ID and Password. If you want to complain about the service and try to use the contact us page, even that doesn’t work. The whole thing is one big convoluted mess and who ever designed/developed the website should be shown the door right away.
Stick to Reliance, unless you are interested in undergoing Chinese water torture at the hands of Bharti.
Update: Reliance India Call slashes it rates to 7.9c for India calling. It is matching the Airtel offer with double the talke time till Jan 31st (Thanks Sudheer)

I cannot agree more. I too posted on my blog on the ordeal I had to experience.
Some load testing was all they had to do…
December 12th, 2006 at 5:44 pm
This thing is so frustrating. they emailed me a 9 digit account number and they keep asking me to input a 10 digit account number. their cust service number is always busy and they never reply to email.
December 12th, 2006 at 6:01 pm
he he..some body did the coding without designing or testing. There website is school project. I have put some $50 in the drain…
December 13th, 2006 at 11:32 am
I cannot agree more. This has been quite a painful experience and have also lost $50. PLEASE DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO AIRTELL. If you insist on throwing away money, I will be more than happy to provide my home address for you to send the check.
December 13th, 2006 at 12:05 pm
Ha… Ha… it looks like a cheating business, their website and customer service is not working; hence anybody think they have a working telephone line….. that also will be engaged full time. relianceindiacall will be the best option.
December 13th, 2006 at 2:32 pm
it sucks big time. and the CC number never connects I’m planning on giving a complaint against airtel for all my frustrating moments.
December 13th, 2006 at 2:37 pm
Man… its simply the whole airtel’s irresponsibility.. and just not a bad site alone. If they care about the customers they have had taken atleast some useful actions. like making the CC number work and replying to the email complaints. They are just showing a deaf ear to everything now. Lets see..
December 13th, 2006 at 6:01 pm
Please, Please do not subscribe to airtelcallhome and it’s big time waste. I lost 50$ and it lodged three complaints waiting for 45 mins average to talk to CSR. They don’t improve and always say, they are working on technical issues. I don;t know how they launched project with out testing. Please do not waste your valuable time by going to that site or calling them
December 13th, 2006 at 9:20 pm
Initially I was excited that there is some competion for reliance but after a hectic day of punching in my address and all the remaining details, making sure that the card number is punched in correctly for like 500 times , i realized there has to be some thing wrong with their website, not to avail, has anyone seen the password rules and regulations, it would have been better to have a password generator. I still thing that reliance is worth every penny. Reliance rocks.
December 13th, 2006 at 11:33 pm
hi i lost $75 today by registering with airtel. they charged my cc even without providing the service. as said by everyone their cc number doesn’t work and their website sucks. someone has to take action against them and if required a lawsuit should be filed against them for eating our money like this.
December 14th, 2006 at 2:48 am
damn..I should have seen this before I signed..Reliance wins my favour(atleast until airtel is fixed)
December 14th, 2006 at 8:01 am
I completely agree with you. I havent heard from them yet after registering a week ago, but sure they were prompt enough to charge me for the card!!
December 14th, 2006 at 8:32 am
i should have seen this before registering. they charged me $50 and no mails on user id yet. i am not able to get thru to customer service. and their WEB SITE SUCKS.
PLEASE NEVER USE AIRTELLCALL HOME. THEY ARE CHEATING PEOPLE.
December 14th, 2006 at 9:06 am
After reading through these posts, I am thinking in same way. “I SHOULD HAVE READ THESE BEFORE TRUSTING COMMERCIAL BY SRK on all HINDI CHANNELS “. Below is the email I have send to BHARTI and I guess i will never get email back.
————————–
You failed miserably with your launch. Who in the world let you guys launch commercials without checking that your site http://www.airtelcallhome.com is working or your Toll Free numbers are working.
Your Site does not let click on submit button even though you fill all the information.
You guys chared me $25. My service is not started. The call to numbers 1-877-247-4047 and 1-877-247-5150 is not successful. I tried to complete the registration, now I do not know what my username is because it never asked for one when I try to create?
I will dispute the credit card charge that you have made if you do not call me within 24 hrs.
——————————-
I am doing this any how.
Again, never trust these BHARTI Guys.

Very very surprising, this.
I had been a Reliance Customer till now, but switched to Airtel only yesterday. But the service seems to be working fine for me. Maybe I joined them after all the issues got resolved. In that case, I am lucky.
The voice clarity seems to be awesome and the service is significantly cheaper. I hope the service quality doesn’t go down again to what you guys seem to have experienced.
December 16th, 2006 at 7:57 pm
I also fell into this trap. What action we can initiate against Airtel?
December 17th, 2006 at 9:42 am
One big Word before I begin any thing on them:
“AIRTEL SUCKS”
I tried to register 5 times and every time at the last step the site said it failed to register and took me to the registration page and 6th time I got succeeded and was able to register. Now after 4 days of this happening I got emails where I was been registered 5 more times and my credit card is charged all the 5 times.
You cannot contact customer service either through email or phone. They are cheating big with all the consumers. I really hope and wish we can do some thing about this.
December 17th, 2006 at 11:34 am
Airtel Sucks Great as their brand ambassador. No surprises. I use Pingo after using Reliance for more than a year.
They give 9c per minute. I never bought anything which Mr Khan endorses and I will never.
December 17th, 2006 at 11:41 am

December 17th, 2006 at 12:00 pm
Horrible Horrible Service.
–I signed up a day back and got a mail saying that sign up has been successful but the phone number has not been registered so I need to
go to the site and do it.
–Even the website is not allowing me to register.
– Now the website says that my userid/password is wrong. I have not changed it after the registration. Dont know what to do now.
–The customer care service number is always busy.Have been trying since yesterday. Its always busy.
–The website is not compatible on Macintosh Browsers.
To sum it up this is the worst up service that a company can provide. Reallly bad. STAY AWAY

I have lost 100 dollars and I just want to know whether i can ask my credit card company dispute this payment. anyone else in the same boat
December 18th, 2006 at 9:29 am
I think airtel is a good brand as compared to reliance. A friend recommended this service to me.
December 18th, 2006 at 6:35 pm
Wish we can file a lawsuit against Bharti and maybe SRK (for endorsing their product-without knowing or caring what crap is being sold to the public) and make them pay hefty fine for our suffering. They set out to compete against reliance… big frikking dream!!
December 19th, 2006 at 8:44 am
Very true… I lost my $50 because of them. After registering they never send me any email. Their customer service do not reply and the phone number does not work. I never thought airtel can be that big a cheater.

Airtel Callhome sucks.
December 19th, 2006 at 5:05 pm
No problem what-so-ever with the service. There were initial problems, which seems to have resolved. .I first registered with $10, got a free $10.. the call quality, like reliance was awesome.. I have now topped up with another $100 and got $100 free.
Totally recommend!
PS: Did you know that the walmart, bestbuy, jcpenny sites were down on blackfriday? Well just think this was a blackfriday for airtel. We have competition man.. and be happy about it… cheap rates .. good auality.. what else to look forward to??

Airtel call India is a CHEAT website. Beware of this site. Never create a account and give your credit card number on this site. 1. They have charge twice $25.00 on my account. 2. They have locked my account - I can not place any call to India. To resolve the issues… I am trying to get hold of 24×7 Customer Care No. 1-877-247-5150 but it NEVER WORKS - Always you will get busy signal. The “Current Balance”, ” Change Registered Numbers”, “Account History” in the website… never works. I am very much frustrated. Called my credit card company for fraud protection - Hopefully I will not loose more than $25.00 - Thanks to fraud protection on my credit card.

It sucks big time. I was a big victim to this website. call drops in between and signal is so weak. It is really frustrating to see that even at these times website doesnt work properly with no functioonality working. I advice not to buy cards from this site. Stick to reliance.
December 20th, 2006 at 1:04 am
I have been a big time user of relainceindiacall.com, but just switched to airtel recently.. Works amazing. rgistered for 25 got 50.. topped up with 100 ang got 200.. Voice quality to delhi landlines and cell phones…AMAZING>>!!
December 20th, 2006 at 6:51 am
agree with the recent posts… there is no problem what so ever… the only glitch is with the website… and i guess due to so many indian signing in.. they are not able to cope up with the traffic i guess… thats it…
December 20th, 2006 at 10:28 am
Hey guys looks like this one team is totally against Airtel!!! On second thoughts… I may still try to subscribe to airtel… 3 reasons…first, I have been told and i confirmed across all comments that the voice clarity is much better…second, I am sure such a big industrial group in India is not after my 50 bucks- may be they not expected so many hits on their website and customer care not upto mark… who cares I am interested in talking to my Dad in real voice and not in extended / broken voice… third, looks like reliance is not going to react to price war and rather spend money on pulling the airtel service down (by planted bad comments without hitting on real issues of calling in clear voice at rates offered by airtel.) to make many more bucks - dont you think, reliance is not even bothered to reduce rates inspite of another big groups entry into the same market - you have new strategies to learn from reliance (any strategy guys here?
Giving a chance to Airtel will in another way help us bargain better between Reliance and Airtel right. Cant believe these guys (reliance) sitting pretty even after 2 weeks of airtel entry. ringing any bells guys!!!!
December 20th, 2006 at 12:30 pm
After all that we have gone thro and agree that the site and the service sucks,
Is there a way to get our money back?
December 20th, 2006 at 1:10 pm
I used my Visa card to loose my money. i am trying to work with Bank of America if they canhelp. If everybody complains to their credit card company then they will tag this fucking merchant ( airtelcallhome) as high risk and return our money back.
December 20th, 2006 at 6:00 pm

It seems like they are not expected this much hits on their website & yet not setup call centre properly. But this should not be venture by groups like Bharti who is going to start retail chain with walmart.Seems like it is a venture by novice guys still sitting in the benches of School, which is reflecting from website, customer service(Though not exist but so called customer service). One thing is pretty clear, airtel can’t take away chunk from reliance as first impression of airtel will stay longer on spectrum of customer’mind even they may rectify these short comings.Again here, perfect case of improfessionalism as still there’s no sign of improvement is on horizon yet after 2 week of launch.
Few things concluded from this fiasco of airtel as follows.
1.Reliance came out as more professional group even though we taught in the beginning that it is not up to the mark for US market. But after getting “airtel effect”,Reliance seems much more professional atleast on phone service for NRI.
2.No doubt ,airtel is a big player in indian mobile industry but, they are caught here as they don’t have done proper homework before initialisation of service in USA except SRK’s aid campaign.
3.From today onwards corporate USA is on holidays & if airtel is not gearing up with services, they may going to loose this opportunity to break the ice in this winter here in USA.
4.It created doubt about Walmart nexus with bharti as how can both go to gather with different philosophies of professionalism?

Folks….Cheaper still better performance. It is what AIRTEL motto is. I have subscribed to it & getting wonderful voice quality. Much much better than what Reliance gives at a higher rate. I can understand that they are going thru the teething phase at this moment. I am sure that AIRTEL did not expected such a high response. I am very much sure once they are out of this phase they will beat all others.

December 21st, 2006 at 5:59 am
I am completely disagree that cust. services are always busy of AIRTEL . IF u compare with RELIANCE than u have spare time for talk to reliance customer care. Coz u always listen that music after dailing reliance cust. care that ” UR CALL IS IMPORTANT FOR US SO BE ONLINE ” THAT music is running in loop but no body entertain ur cals if somebody entertain….. than its after a long while. but airtel cust. services is not like this.
December 21st, 2006 at 6:06 am

December 21st, 2006 at 8:20 am
Guys Reliance india too has slashed the rates…..check it out….this will be a very good lesson to Bharti….
December 21st, 2006 at 8:45 am
Shruti, Delhi, Day
I don’t think you understand the context of this post. This is about “call india” service from Airtell. This service is for Indians in US, not for people living in India. We are not complaining/comparing mobile or broadband service in India.
December 21st, 2006 at 10:43 am
This is a very painful experience, bloody suckers of money everywhere. Airtelcallhome is a fake service. Why the hell these people try to make money cheating people.
December 21st, 2006 at 12:24 pm
I have been receiving calls from my sister in US - who said that she is using Airtel Call Home! She told me that although she is facing some issues - but not as much as they are being projected on the net.
I think, we as customers, expect best of everything at all time. I’ve been using Airtel mobile & also Broadband in India and they are providing great services. I don’t see a reason why they won’t be able to provide gud services in US! Am sure its just about unestimation of traffic from this offer, some initial mad rush for this card & thus the overload. Airtel will certainly improve its services in a very short span.
As someone said on another blog
[quote] We should give our feedback in a positive way to the management, who not only had the guts to compete with Reliance but also gave us a generous welcome deal. Like a wise man said once: It doesn’t matter whether you do great things or not atleast don’t interrupt somebody doing it. And, it’s easier to say, but harder to do. Airtel is doing something harder for most other companies in india & world.
I am sure airtel will address their technical drawbacks and soon be a great competition to reliance, hence giving us more time to call our folks & friends [unquote]
December 21st, 2006 at 12:46 pm
I have made a complaint against http://www.airtelcallhome.com in https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

I care for better service and airtel has provided a disguishting service. I have registered and I can’t call. Customer service is always busy.
How can one stay in business with

Even if you get thru toll free number (After multiple redial), the , the sound quality is horrible, Echo!!

December 21st, 2006 at 5:41 pm
This is Crazy…dint expect this from airtel…..Wish You were as prompt in ur service as u are in charging Credit cards…..
Management Lesson:
A great example of how easy it is to screrwup a company’s reputation that was built over the last 10 years!!!
Bad News: Reliance is cheaper than wht u hav advertised.

I have signin Airtelcallhome Last week. i entered all my details and amount ($10) when i clicked summit the link went down.I didnt get any conformation mail from Airtel .So i thought sigin wasn’t sucess. Today i checked my Credit card account summary, the amount has been detected from
Airtel. I tried to Login with my email Id and Password (the one i gave in airtelcallhome site while registration) its not allowing me. I called custemer care no one picked up. Its totally worst response from Airtel . I never expect this level of worest service from a well named comapany… so be careful while sigin Otherwise you are also need to write Blogger like me
December 21st, 2006 at 11:43 pm
Once I got the reg details and started using the service, it has been a good experience, the network is better than reliance. I am sure that Airtel being such a big name in telecom back home, will resolve all the issues plaguing the service right n0w……..after all its been a remarkable company over a short span of time!!
December 22nd, 2006 at 4:23 am
Amit K
Ppl i have taken airtel. even i thought my airtel connection will not work after my $100 was taken.(reason being i read blogs :D).. but the voice clarity is a welcome change compared to reliance. its working well. As a long term reliance user i was saddened with the burst with which the voice used to come through. Give these guys time they will solve your probs too.
December 22nd, 2006 at 8:15 am
I have been using Reliance india call and was very satisfied with it. When I heard about Airtelcallhome.com, I registered and found that I have encountered the most horrible site ever built. The site is so slow and gives errors on various screens. Till now I have not been able to register my number. As for the 24×7 customer service, the less said the better. Customer service does not exist at all. It’s clear Bharati did not do it’s homework before launcing the service in US. Unless they do something drastic to fix their site and customer service, they are out of the competition before they could even take off.
December 22nd, 2006 at 9:47 am
Airtel is doomed!! All the money they spent on marketing, infrastructure, everything down the drain…
I just got an e-mail from Reliance saying they slashed the price to 7.9Cents AND they are giving double talk time till Jan 30. I absolutely have no reason to try airtel again!
Imagine how much Airtel would have paid Sharukh and how much they would have paid for airtime on all those hindi channels. If they would have spent a fraction of it on quality/load testing, they would have been soo much better off…
December 22nd, 2006 at 3:11 pm
Sharukh Khan dafli baja, reliance also reduced the price and they have better business ethics than Sunil Mittal. Even prostitute don’t take money without service, Airtel is worst than prostitutes.
December 25th, 2006 at 12:47 am
Free Advice to all who want to get their money back: If the Airtel customer service does not respond (phone or email). Please do not waste your time. Go to your credit card customer support and inform them that you spoke to the cutomer support with Airtelcallhome and have already cancelled the phone card and they said that they will refund the money in 3 days.
Let them deal with credit card complaints. Teach them a lesson. They should understand the frustration they are causing innocent people.
And as some of your folks mentioned, they should have hired someone who is NOT INSANE , working on this portal.
Good Luck to All!

This is the most harrowing experience I have ever had. Their web site kept telling me that that the credit card info could not be validated. After using 2 cards a few times, I switched over to Firefox from IE since their cc auth is does through AJAX, it took a long time but finally I got an account. I checked both the credit card statements - I had been billed 5 times in all. Their tollfree no is the only toll free in the world no that is busy - perpetually.

Airtel is ridiculous. I waisted 50$ on this. and not able to make a call from past 2 days. their customer care number and toll free number both seems to be busy all the time 24 hours a day ! i dont under stand what the hell is this…. Sme one has to lodge a complaint against them for cheating.. and there is no way to contact them too…
December 27th, 2006 at 8:56 pm
PLEASE DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO AIRTEL, worst service….call does not get connected…in ten mins talk the call dropped three times…AIRTEL SUCKS!!!!
I have put $50 in TRASH!!!!

Please never go for airtel. It sucks big time.. i will loose my 200 dollars.
December 29th, 2006 at 6:13 pm
Oh man ..i cannot agree more. They charged me $50 more for no reason & they dont even come on line. This is the worst website i ever saw. Cant imagine how they plan to enter the US market with such customer quality. Airtel is a fraud on honest people.

I GOT A CALL CARD FROM A SHOP TO TRY FOR FREE. I TRIED TO MAKE A CALL BUT AFTER I FEEDED THE CODES ON THE CARD IT STARTED SAYING THE VALIDITY HAS EXPIRED WHERE AS ON THE PRINTED CARD SAID THAT VALIDITY VALID TILL 31ST DEC.
I TRIED TO CALL ON THE 27TH DEC. ANY WAYS THE IST IMPRESSION WAS POOR. THINKING IT WAS A TECHINICAL ERROR I TRIED TO REGISTER ONLINE AFTER A LONG TIME I GOT REGITSRED FOR 50 DOLLARS AND SOME HOW I COULD NOT GET PAST THE TOLL FREE NUMBER IT ALWAYS COMES BUSY. IT THEN STRUCK ME THAT THE SYSTEM REGISTERS YOUR TEL. NUMBER AND AS SOON AS YOU CALL FROM A DIFFERENT NUMBER THE RING GOES ON THE SAME TOLL FREE NUMBER IN THE IST GO, BUT YOU CANNOT MAKE A SINGLE PHONE CALL.
IN SHORT IF SUCH A BIG COMPANY TRIES TO CHEAT AND EAT UP MONEY FROM THEIR FELLOW INDIANS WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION NO WONDER IT WILL FAIL TO LAUNCH.
I HAVE ALERTED ALL MY FRIENDS NOT TO REGISTER WITH AIRTEL AND STICK WITH RELIANCE. AS THE NAME SUGGESTS ITS AN RELIABLE COMPANY I HAVE BEEN WITH THEM FOR 8 MONTHS AND NO PROBLEMS.
THIS EMAIL IS WITHOUT BIAS AND INTENDED FOR GENERAL PUBLIC INFO. FEEL FREE TO HAVE YOUR EXPERIENCE AND POST A MESSAGE LIKE ME ON THE WEB, I AM SURE YOU WILL REACH THE SAME CONCLUSION.
GOOD LUCK.

It worked for me without many
problems. I charged 50 dollars and next day I got free $50 in my account. Voice quality is good and I think better then reliance. Price 7.9 c but due to the free minutes now it is 4 cent. However I was (and still) unable to updated my registered numbers through their site and the many times I tried to call their CSR I get busy tone. Hope this helps!!

I took this service in the month of Dec 2006. Ever since I started using the service the calls get disconnected for every 3 to 4 mins. I have raised 6 complaints so far. Every time I was told that this issue will be resolved with in an hour, but no luck.
Yesterday morning someone by name Jagrooth Singh took the details and told the same story of 1 hour thing. And he told me that he will get back to me once it is done. I havn’t heard anything from him either on phone or thru mail. I still have the same problem today as well. And it took me 20min to reach the same person Jagrooth, but even after that no use, he still ask’s 1 more hour today as well.
I’m not sure what’s the issue is and what is that they are resolving, and why it takes so long for them to fix this. I’m sick and tired of the “Sorry Statment” from the customer service rep’s, who can do nothing expect taking the issue and give a complaint number, which is of no use. And the other thing they do is keep telling the same story of opening a priority ticket again and again. And one time some one came up with a crap idea, saying that it could be a problem at the other end as well, no one is ready to buy that. Every time the call gets disconnected I’m using Reliance India Call and it works fine, I have the records for the same.
Not sure if they can fix this issue or not. Still they keep on asking me to give one more chance, I don’t want to try and get disconnected after 3 to 4 mins and waist my talk time. I have already waisted 6 dollars worth of talk time, just for trying to see if it is fixed or not. And one day I think I will use up all my talk time just by trying, and they are going to say there is nothing to return as you have already used the entire talk time.
If any one is looking to try this service, you will end up trying, trying,trying…….forever.

Has anyone tried the site recently? I think they have sorted out their problem now.. logging in is a breeze. Their CSRs are available almost instantly if you call and you account is updated very promptly..
It still has a few glitches.. like there is not “EasyDial” or anything like that so that we don’t have to remember the lengthy numbers of all our contact.. also your registered numbers do not show in your profile.. but I am sure these issues will be resolved over the period of time. They have extended their 1st recharge date to 28 Feb now.. which is a really good news - you can try for more time and then commit to put in more money if you like.
I like reliance services - but mind you, if Airtel was not there in the market, we would still be paying hefty 13 cents a minute where as people pay just 2 cents to call China.. Hat’s off to Airtel for bringing competition to the market.

Reliance cheated on everyone ! They said double talk time and mailed everyone on 22nd Dec. I recharged on 27th Dec for 200$ and found that I got credited with only 18$. When I called up the CS, they said the terms and conditions had been changed on 23rd Dec, and now double recharges were being offered on for 5$.
I guess they just wanted to get some cheap publicity. Bunch of greedy cheats !

I used virtual CC number which they can use only one time so payment/recharge issue. Took a while before numbers were registered. I have using AIRTEL for last 2 months it is getting better. It is worth if you qualify for double talk offer (4 cents /minute NOT Bad). Otherwise Reliance still better. Still after 2 months Website SUCKS!!. For new customers it’s not advisable to join AIRTEL.
We need to give AIRTEL credit for bring rate down which Reliance had monopoly. Still Reliance is playing cat and mouse game, Initially they offered double talk time but pulled out abruptly knowing AIRTEL has problem.
I don’t know why AIRTEL can’t fix the website issue? It’s totally disastrous for them.
So lets enjoy the better rates!!

you guys need to use http://www.fonemine.com and call free! And do much more. Your phone becomes a computer doing so many things including calling free to 30 countries supported by ads in the beginning of the call.

Pathetic simply Pathetic!!!
This is what i would call Airtel callhome service. Ever since they launched they seems to have one or the other problem. Even now on their new Summer Showers Offer…they have proven themselves NUTs……there site is down from last 4-5 days & they dont respond to phone calls/emails. Their customer care no is always busy. That junk of webpages which they call as website is fully broken and too slow…it never works!! Don’t go with Airtel.
I feel Reliance India call is much better….No issues with reliance…..Had been using it for more than an year. They have also slashed their prices. More important I heard that they are bringing some offers very soon.
June 2nd, 2007 at 1:59 am
Airtel should stop providing Airtel Call Home Service because at airtel
-Website Does’nt Work
-Customer Care Does’nt work
-E-mails Does’nt work
-Registration Does’nt work
-Recharge Does’nt work
-TOLL Free Does’nt work
I wonder why the hell they are Working!! So, I think even they should stop working. Let their be space for some one good service provider who understans customer nees better ie. Reliance India Call which are far far better. Reliance gives some better offers and they keep their Promise.

Airtel Sucks——Reliance Rocks!!
What kind of service Airtel is providing they ONLY know…….bcoz their website never works…..their customer care numbr doesnt work…..they dont revert to E-mails…..you can not get through numbers…..lines always busy…..they charge you extra…..they give no offers…..even wen you fulfill all conditions….So I Have pretty much given up on AirTel Call home & now Started using Reliance back. For the last couple of weeks been very delighted to use Reliance…….need not to bother much & good easy connectivity!!
I for one though will never use AirTel again!

Airtel Call home really Sucks!!
Even I agree that they have the worst service in the world
their service sucks….really sucks big time… now even their latest Summers Shower offer is super flop. Since the day they announced, their website is down and not workin. website is so slow looks like the top management themselves physical load the data when you log on. Even when one tries calling their Customer care number they never respond.
If this will be the level of service they give Soon they should pack their bags & move. Seems they r having hard times as reliance India Call has come up with many new offers and with quality Service & nominal rates.
I feel airtel is finding difficult to cope with Reliance as it has matched their rate to Airtel, I myself see no point in going thro’ the Airtel frustration and I have stopped using Airtel and switched back to Reliance…

When I signed up for Airtel, things seemed to be going good. Then the curtain was lifted. My account locked and Airtel never gave me a reason why and then to talk to a non robotic customer service rep is like looking for needle in a haystack. I spoke to the supervisor and he “assured” me that they would get back back to me in 6 hours. FYI Airtel the word “revert” means to go back and isn’t correctly used in relation to an email response.
Its been almost 36 hours and I am still waiting. I am disputing a charge of $25, they will not tell me any account details (remember THEY have locked my account and THEY cannot access it I am told}. I sent two emails and get an automated response. Does anybody care about us in the company. I don’t think so. It has been a truly disappointing experience and really shocking to see that no matter how much these companies progress, the bureaucracy remains and even worse they politely keep telling you to call in 4 hours if you want to speak to a supervisor.
Airtel, I hope you realize you are taking hard-earned money from people who want to talk to their near and dear ones and trust you and then relegate those people to keep rehashing the account details to 20 something year olds who could care less about getting back to your customers. If this is a way of making dollars and record profits then sorry I do not want to be associated with this type of company.

Hi All,
I am facing a strange problem( strange for me not for airtel). I was able to login and recharge my account when I created the web account. Now I am not able to login to their site. It says invalid user ID or password. I have been interacting with their customer care service, for the last three weeks to resolve the issue( The second mistake I did, I trusted those call center fellows words), can you imagine they are not able to provide a solution till now. I am plannig to go back to reliance.

its all responsiblity of Mr.Sunil Mittal. He should look into it.Even I lost my $15.It creates a image that Indian companies are not good @ service.inspite of having such a large service sector in our Country. It is solely owners responsiblity to provide best quality service to customer then and then only business can flourish otherwise Bharti telecom would be no where.Very serious issue. If it keeps on happening then a day will come when somebody will Sue the company.

Although most of the phone card companies are giving many offers it is not able to maintain the increasing connection completely.Even it is not giving clear signals. But these days I found one phone overcoming all these drawbacks and that is PINGO. It is one of the international calling cards company which is giving full fledged sound signals, clear voice and many more facilities.I am sure that once you use this you will make it your communication partner for ever

I’ve been a Startec customer for years… they recently lowered their rates to 6.9¢ per minute, that’s lower than Airtel and Reliance. They have excellent quality and I’ve never had any problems…. good website too.
June 10th, 2008 at 9:56 am
I recently used them for a week. The voice quality was superb and i had no issues creating an a/c and using their service. May be i was just lucky. BTW they were charging some 6 cents per minute as compared to 7.9 cents that Reliance does. Just my experience…
