Tagging on Google Video

If you have tried searching videos on Google Video recently, no doubt you should have noticed the non-relevancy of results. The search experience is very un-google like. The content providers have not provided much information about the video being uploaded and most of the time the videos that show up in the results have nothing to do with the subject for which you are searching. I guess this one application where Google could allow community tagging to improve relevancy. As such contents of video files are non indexable, since there is no text data associated with the video . So it would be a good idea to open up the content meta-data to community tagging, thus providing more relevant results. Offcourse people coming to the site should have the option to carrying standard search or search based on tags created by other users.

Update : Google Video Store is officially live and has the most un-google like search and user experience.
